This is a very common problem with parents all over the world. Many would like to start their own baby record book, but do not know how to go about doing so.

If you want to be prepared, you should fill out your baby book before having your child. You can start out by filling in the details about your family, and the family tree. There are many items that you will not be able to include yet. However, you can start out now and save yourself some time later. When the baby comes along you might not have the time to be filling out these details. You can start taking photos of your baby’s first belongings. This will include their first bed, their first play area, their first toys, their first articles of clothing and any other items you have bought for them. You can include your ultrasound photos and other photos of events such as baby showers in your baby record book. You should try to get as much done as you can, while you still have the time.

When your baby is born you can fill out the details such as birth weight and other specifics about the birth. You can include the birth certificate, and your child’s wristband. You can include any other items that you received from the hospital, such as certificates and other paper items. If you have any photographs from the birth you can include these. There are always many more chances to take some photographs, but you should get started as soon as you can. Remember to keep a camera handy at all times. Buying a cell phone with a built in camera is a great idea. Be sure to buy one with a flash included.
